Final: Part 1

Final: Part 1

The things I liked about this class were the videos and the student success statement. The things I didn’t really like about the class were the medical career pathways. A recommendation to improve the class is to let people work in teams a little more. I really did do my best in this class. Yes I am reading my life planning 100+ goals daily for two minutes because I want to accomplish all my goals I have in my life planning book. I am committed to be a CTR person because I believe if you choose the right you can get anywhere you want. The things I will always remember about this class are the CTR card checks, the life planning goals check and the student success statements.

Student Success Statement: The Ultimate Choice

Student Success Statement
“Of all the choices you will ever make, one choice supersedes all others-the ultimate choice. This one choice will help you to always make correct decisions. This one choice, The Ultimate Choice, is your keystone to being the best student and person you can possibly be. This one choice will forever affect you for good more than any other choice. THE ULTIMATE CHOICE is: To be a CTR Person-to always CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!”

Reflection: What this quote means is that there are many choices out there a person has to make. But the ultimate choice is to be a CTR person which is to always choose the right. This ultimate choice will lead you to being the best student and best person you can be. This ultimate choice will affect you for good than any other choice.

Student Success Statement: Alan Stein

Student Success Statement
“Success is not an accident. Success is actually a choice.”
Alan Stein

Reflection: What Alan Stein is saying is that success is just a choice. For example, Stephen Curry made the choice to be one of the best NBA scorers in history.  Stephen Curry also chose to practice on his shots and moves everyday which lead him to success.

Student Success Statement: Thomas Carlyle

Student Success Statement
“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”
Thomas Carlyle

Reflection: What Thomas Carlyle means in this quote is that if you have no goals you will not go the direction you want like if a boat without a rudder won’t go where you want the boat to go. When you set a goal you must focus on it till you accomplish is it. Once you set a goal if you really want to accomplish it then keep on working hard each day to accomplish it. If you do not work hard on your goals you will just go straight forward like a boat does without a rudder.

Student Success Statement: Chinese Proverb

Student Success Statement
“If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world. Conclusion: If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world.
Chinese Proverb

Reflection: What the quote is saying is that the only way there can be peace in the world is if there is beauty in character. Also if we have beauty in character then there will be adjustments at home.

The Six Pillars of Character

The Six Pillars of Character
1. Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship
2. Trustworthiness is to be honest an example for trustworthiness is don’t deceive, cheat, or steal. Respect is to treat other with respect an example of respect is to not threaten, hit or hurt anyone. Responsibility is to do what you’re supposed to do an example of responsibility is use self-control. Fairness is play by the rules an example of fairness is take turns and share. Caring is to be kind an example of caring is forgive others. Citizenship is doing your share to make your school and community better an example of citizenship is to be a good neighbor.

Reflection: My thoughts about the six pillars of character are they seem easy to follow.  I think that anyone can follow these six pillars of character. I commit to live these six pillars of character.

Student Success Statement: Sophocles

Student Success Statement
“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
Sophocles

Reflection: What I think the quote is sating is it’s better to fail or lose by not cheating than to win by cheating. For example, if you fail a test it’s better to fail it with honor and not cheat than to pass the test by cheating and later not feel happy about it.
